Kurfok Ling Darju Lyang
Kurfok Ling Darju Lyang is a popular Lepcha song arousing self-confidence and national pride of the indigenous community of Sikkim. Text and tune were composed by Ren Dhendup Adenmoo around 1970. After outlining the extent of the Lepcha homeland, the emotional verses recall the feats of the ancestors evoking commitment for the preservation of the heritage of Ne Mayel Lyang.
Tentative translation:
Rivers Arun and Tamur, Raidak and Torsa, Teesta and Rangit,
all these waters were named by us, being Mother's loved ones.
Let's scale the peak of Mount Tendong, oh comrades, and call out:
We'll withstand and firmly meet our responsibilities.
